WASHINGTON, March 20 (TNSFR) -- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a final rule adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) applicable to all Boeing 777-200, -200LR, -300, -300ER, and 777F series airplanes. This directive, prompted by a report of a five-inch crack discovered on the upper wing skin of a Boeing 777 aircraft, mandates repetitive inspections for cracking in certain areas of the wing and corresponding corrective actions if defects are found.
