WASHINGTON, March 20 (TNSFR) -- The Thomas Burke Memorial Washington State Museum, University of Washington, Seattle, has announced its intention to repatriate a ceramic vessel to The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.
The vessel, classified as an unassociated funerary object, was originally collected from the Gulf Coast, possibly in Mississippi, by W.L. Phillips in 1926 after a hurricane eroded burial sites along riverbanks. The vessel was later obtained by Floyd Baldwin, who donated it . . .
