University of Florida to Repatriate Native American Remains From San Juan Del Puerto Mission

WASHINGTON, March 15 (TNSFR) -- The University of Florida's Florida Museum of Natural History (FLMNH) has announced plans to repatriate the remains of two Native American individuals in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The remains, which were excavated in the 1970s from the San Juan del Puerto Mission site in Duval County, Florida, have been determined to be culturally affiliated with the Seminole Tribe of Florida and The Muscogee (Creek) . . .
