ALBANY, New York, Feb. 1 -- The New York Public Service Commission (PSC) has fined Summit Paving and Masonry, Inc. $2,500 for damaging a gas service line during excavation work. The incident occurred on July 22, 2024, at 958 West Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, New York, when the company damaged a 1-inch high-pressure plastic gas service while excavating a gravel parking lot.
