ATLANTA, Georgia, Jan. 31 -- Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, R-Georgia, issued the following news release on Jan. 30, 2025:
Senate Bill 1, the 'Fair and Safe Athletic Opportunities Act', passed out of the Senate Education and Youth Committee and will now head to the Senate Rules Committee. SB 1, which would ban biological males from participating in women's sports across Georgia, is a priority of Lt. Governor Burt Jones for the 2025 Legislative Session.
