SANTA FE, New Mexico, Jan. 31 -- New Mexico Attorney General Raul Torrez issued the following statement on Jan. 30, 2025:

Background:

The NMDOJ's bill on Mass Threats of Violence (HB 31) was passed today in the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee and will be moving on to the next stage in the legislative process.

The bill would change mass shooting threats from a misdemeanor to a fourth-degree felony. Please see below state . . .
