MCALLEN, Texas, Jan. 29 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas issued the following news release:
A former deputy with the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office has been ordered to prison following his conviction of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine, announced acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery.
Baldemar Cardenas, 39, McAllen, pleaded guilty April 1, 2022.
