Michigan State University to Repatriate Textile Fragment From Sumnerville Mound

WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 (TNSFR) -- Michigan State University has announced its intent to repatriate a preserved textile fragment that was removed from the Sumnerville Mound in Pokagon Township, Cass County, Michigan. The textile, cataloged as item 2002.29.27, was likely taken from the mound in 1888 by Eliot Crane, who distributed the recovered objects to local collectors.
