SAN FRANCISCO, California, Dec. 13 (TNSres) -- The University of California San Francisco campus issued the following news release:

A new study finds that a blood test may be a more reliable indicator of liver disease than asking how much a person drinks.

Excessive drinking can damage the liver. Yet, unlike obesity or high cholesterol, clinicians only screen for alcohol use by asking their patients how much they drink.
