U.S. Attorney for D.C.: Corrections Officer Charged Along With Inmates and Others in Conspiracy to Smuggle Contraband Into the D.C. Jail

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia issued the following news release on Nov. 19, 2024:

Corrections Officer Rashaad Roper, 45, of Gaithersburg, MD, is one of five people charged by indictment, unsealed today, in a conspiracy to provide a knife, drugs, and cell phones to inmates in the D.C. jail as they awaited trial for murder and assault with intent to kill while armed.
