GWU Media Tip Sheet Federal Judge Blocks Louisiana Law Requiring Ten Commandments in Classrooms

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 -- George Washington University issued the following news:

In June of this year, Louisiana became the first state to require the Ten Commandments be displayed in every public school classroom. However, earlier this week, federal judge John W. deGravelles found that the law was unconstitutional and forbade the state from enforcing it. Attorney General Liz Murrill of Louisiana is ready to appeal the ruling.
