The Enlightenment was a European intellectual and philosophical movement that occurred in the 17th and the 18th centuries. Or was it?
"People believe it was a thing, a phenomenon, a movement. And it has been turned into a movement by a process which is technically called 'reification.' We take a word, and we turn it into a thing," said J.C.D. Clark, distinguished professor . . .
