SPARTANBURG, South Carolina, Oct. 30 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina issued the following news release:

Bernardino de Jesus Ramirez-Ramirez, a/k/a Carlos Mendoza, 35, of Guatemala, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping and illegal transportation of an alien.
