WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release:

As crews continue working to restore power, communications and infrastructure across the Southeast, FEMA and federal partners are sending additional teams and resources to bolster state-led response efforts.
