WASHINGTON, Sept. 25 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency issued the following news release on Sept. 23, 2024:

Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and more severe due to climate change leading to increased response and recovery missions across the nation.
