SACRAMENTO, California, Aug. 8 -- Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-California, issued the following news release on Aug. 7, 2024:

Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed tribal-state gaming compacts between the State of California and the Timbisha Shoshone Tribe and with the Elem Indian Colony of Pomo Indians of the Sulphur Bank Rancheria, California.
