DES MOINES, Iowa, July 19 -- Iowa Workforce Development issued the following news release:
Iowa's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.8 percent in June, unchanged since April and 0.1 percent lower than one year ago. The state's labor force participation rate decreased to 66.5 percent from 66.7 percent in May, primarily due to increases in retirements. Nationally, the U.S. unemployment rate increased to 4.1 percent in June.
