WASHINGTON, July 11 -- Rep. John P. Sarbanes, D-Maryland, issued the following news release:
Today, Congressman John Sarbanes (MD-03) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8281, the SAVE Act, a dangerous, extreme bill that would undermine the fundamental right to vote:
"This legislation is premised on the unfounded and irresponsible claim that non-citizens are voting in our electionsjust one more in a long line of misleading claims by House Rep . . .
