ST. PAUL, Minnesota, June 29 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following news release:
Governor Tim Walz today authorized the Minnesota National Guard to provide public safety support for the 2024 Republican National Convention. The convention, which will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15 through July 18, has been designated as a national special security event by the United States Department of Homeland Security due to the scale of security operations required.< . . .
