TALLAHASSEE, Florida, June 28 -- Florida State University issued the following news:

Javier Borges, an alumnus of Florida State University, will make history as the first Hispanic chair of the FSU Alumni Association's board of directors, effective July 1.
With more than 20% of FSU's student population being Hispanic, this milestone aligns with the university's trajectory toward becoming a Hispanic-serving institution.
