Congressman Keith Self's amendment to name a Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport vessel after Lieutenant General Richard E. Carey passed by voice in the House of Representatives today.
General Carey provided 38 years of distinguished military service to his country. Before the age of 20, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and rose to the rank of second lieutenant. . . .
