ST. PAUL, Minnesota, June 15 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS: The land called Pezihutazizi Kapi, The Place Where They Dig For Yellow Medicine, has been the homeland of the Yellow Medicine Dakota People for time immemorial; and
WHEREAS: Tribal-State relations in Minnesota have historically been paternalistic and rooted in removal, systemically dishonoring the sovereignty these communities are entitled to; and
