TOPEKA, Kansas, June 8 -- The Kansas Senate Democrats issued the following news release on behalf of Kansas State Sen. Jeff Pittman:

Senator Jeff Pittman today sent a letter to Attorney General Kris Kobach regarding the recent cross-party nomination of a candidate for an upcoming election. Senator Pittman asks whether this and other nominations comply with the Kansas State Constitution, election laws, and party bylaws.
