OAKLAND, California, June 1 -- California Attorney General Rob Bonta issued the following news release on May 31, 2024:

California Attorney General Rob Bonta today announced that the California Department of Justice (DOJ), pursuant to Assembly Bill 1506 (AB 1506), is investigating and will independently review a shooting by an officer-duty Los Angeles Police officer that occurred in Ontario, California on Thursday, May 30 2024. The incident resulted in the death of one individual.
