RALEIGH, North Carolina, May 31 -- The North Carolina Department of Insurance issued the following news release on May 30, 2024:
Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced that the N.C. Department of Insurance has settled its legal dispute with North Carolina insurance companies over a dwelling rate increase.
Commissioner Causey negotiated an average statewide increase of 8%, which is 42.6 percentage points lower than the 50.6% increase requested by the N.C. Rat . . .
