WASHINGTON, May 21 -- Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, issued the following news release on May 20, 2024:
Today, Representative John Carter announced that he secured $1.6 million for the Bell County Diversion Center in the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations bill that was recently signed into law. The Diversion Center gives law enforcement officers another option outside jail facilities or local hospitals to help individuals suffering from mental health crises.
