AUSTIN, Texas, May 17 -- The Public Utility Commission of Texas issued the following news release on May 16, 2024:

The Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) assessed $424,500 in penalties, secured $66,912 in market refunds, and approved a $100,000 customer assistance donation related to violations of electric and water rules at its open meeting today. The Commission has primary oversight and economic regulatory authority over the state's electricity, water, and telecommunication . . .
