SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, May 11 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Statistics Service - Illinois Field Office issued the following news release:
Winter Wheat: Harvested area in 2024 is forecast at 680,000 acres, down 13 percent from the previous year. The winter wheat yield is forecast at 83 bushels per acre, down 4 bushels from 2023. Production is forecast at 56.4 million bushels, down 17 percent from last year.
