WASHINGTON, May 2 -- The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee issued the following news release on May 1, 2024:

Today, a near-total abortion ban in Florida took effect. Virginia is now the last state in the South that has not banned abortion.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen released the following statement:
