BANGOR, Maine, May 2 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maine issued the following news release:

A Wayne man was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor to attempting to smuggle methamphetamine pills into the U.S. and intentionally making false statements to a federal law enforcement agent.

U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. sentenced Victor Sousa, 25, to 33 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release. Sousa pleaded . . .
