MANOA, Hawaii, April 18 -- The University of Hawaii Manoa campus issued the following news release:
A University of Hawaii at Manoa senior majoring in political science and sociology was named a Truman Scholar-the premier graduate scholarship for aspiring public service leaders in the United States--and is the only recipient from Hawaii this year.
Daniel Arakawa, a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama (KS Kapalama) and native of Kane'ohe, hopes to become an assistant . . .
