MONTGOMERY, Alabama, April 5 -- The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs issued the following news release:
Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded slightly more than $791,000 to improve public safety in 12 municipalities and seven counties in Alabama.
The grants will enable police and sheriffs' departments in those jurisdictions to purchase equipment or participate in practices that will help them better serve their communities.
