WASHINGTON, April 5 -- The Appalachian Regional Commission issued the following news release on April 4, 2024:

Today the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded two new grants totaling $17 million to boost outdoor recreation tourism and strengthen the behavioral healthcare workforce through its Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) funding opportunity, which drives large-scale economic transformation through multi-state collaboration:
