TULSA, Oklahoma, March 27 -- The Cherokee Nation, a federally-recognized Native American tribe, issued the following news on March 26, 2024:

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. told more than 100 public school educators Tuesday that renewal of the tribal-state car tag compact this year is critical to ensuring millions of dollars continue to flow to school districts, law enforcement and infrastructure throughout Northeast Oklahoma in the coming years.
