HONOLULU, Hawaii, March 8 -- Gov. Josh Green, D-Hawaii, issued the following news release on March 7, 2024:
DHS Director Cathy Betts will transition from her role in May 2024, concluding a remarkable 17-year tenure with the state of Hawaii.
Betts has led the department since 2020, stepping into the leadership position just a few months into the pandemic. Before that, she served as the deputy director from 2017 to 2020.
