SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, Feb. 17 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Illinois issued the following news release:
During the third day of former Illinois State Senator William Samuel McCann Jr.'s bench trial before U.S. District Judge Colleen Lawless, McCann pleaded guilty to nine counts of the indictment which charged him with seven counts of wire fraud, one count of money laundering, and one count of tax evasion related to his alleged misuse of campaig . . .
