WASHINGTON, Feb. 16 -- Rep. Ron Estes, R-Kansas, issued the following news release on Feb. 15, 2024:
Today during a Ways and Means hearing, IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel admitted that staffing at the IRS is about 50% in-person and 50% remote after Rep. Estes questioned him about issues with the Information Return Intake System (IRIS), lack of customer service and staffing levels following the end of COVID-19.
