Oregon's U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley and U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Edward J. Markey (D-MA), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Cory Booker (D-NJ) sent a letter to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan pushing for dedicated funding to independent third parties--not just oil and gas companies--for methane emissions detection and monitoring.
