CAMP SMITH, Hawaii, Jan. 11 -- The U.S. Department of Defense's Indo-Pacific Command issued the following news:
UPDATE 15, December 23, 2023 1215CST:
The U.S. Navy salvage team from USNS Salvor (T-ARS-52) arrived on-station in the vicinity of Yakushima Island on Dec. 23 to join alongside the Japan Coast Guard, Japan Self-Defense Forces, local law enforcement, Japanese civilian volunteers, and other U.S. military assets to support the search, recovery and salvage efforts . . .
