WASHINGTON, Nov. 24 -- Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, issued the following opening remarks at a hearing on Nov. 2, 2023, entitled "Opportunities and Challenges in Deploying CCUS and DAC Technologies on Federal and Non-Federal Lands." CCUS are carbon capture utilization and sequestration while DAC stands for direct air capture.
