JACKSON, Mississippi, Nov. 2 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi issued the following news release:

A former Jackson lawyer and a former Jackson lobbyist were sentenced for conspiracy to defraud investors in a timber deed investment scheme.
