Mobile units increase odds of averting stroke

ITHACA, New York, Oct. 30 -- Cornell University issued the following news:

Mobile stroke units bring the emergency room to the patient including a CAT scan machine, clot-busting medication and video link to doctors.

Receiving a clot-busting drug in an ambulance-based mobile stroke unit (MSU) increases the likelihood of averting strokes and complete recovery compared with standard hospital emergency care, according to researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presby . . .
