ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Oct. 16 -- Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minnesota, issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS: Dr. Norman Ernest Borlaug was born March 25, 1914, on a farm in Iowa. He received a bachelor's degree in forestry from the University of Minnesota in 1937 and then started work with the U.S. Forestry Service at stations located in Massachusetts and Idaho. He returned to Minnesota and received a master's degree in 1941 and a doctorate in 1942, both in plant pathology from the Unive . . .
