ROCKFORD, Illinois, Oct. 5 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois issued the following news release:
A Cook County man has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud and aggravated identity theft.
ROBERT CARTER, 29, of Homewood, Ill., was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Philip G. Reinhard to 64 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $1 million in restitution.
