WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 -- Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Virginia, issued the following news release statement on Sept. 26, 2023:

The U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has awarded $18,448 to Henry County for overtime pay for their police officers working major crime scenes. This funding, through BJA's fiscal year 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, will also be used for extra patrols in high crime areas . . .
