AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 19 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following proclamation on Sept. 18, 2023:
When Texas was but an uncharted wilderness, intrepid Spaniards voyaged across oceans unknown to pursue glory and honor in the New World. In so doing, they brought to the continent a bold, adventurous spirit that has survived well into the new millennium.
