WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 -- Everytown for Gun Safety issued the following news release on Sept. 13, 2023:

Today, Everytown for Gun Safety released the following statements applauding Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX-16), and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL-10) for reintroducing the Disarm Hate Act -- legislation that would prohibit people convicted of misdemeanor hate crimes from possessing or purchasing guns, closing a loophole in our background check system.
