SACRAMENTO, California, Aug. 29 -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release on Aug. 28, 2023:
In response to a Center for Biological Diversity petition and lawsuits, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service today protected four populations of foothill yellow-legged frogs in California under the Endangered Species Act. The protected frog populations are in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills, North Feather River, Central Coast and South Coast.
