U.S. Attorney for Central District of California: Experian Consumer Services Agrees to Injunction and $650,000 Civil Penalty for Allegedly Sending Emails to Consumers Without Giving Future Opt-Out Option

SANTA ANA, California, Aug. 23 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for Central District of California issued the following news release on Aug. 22, 2023:

ConsumerInfo.com Inc., which does business as Experian Consumer Services (Experian), has agreed to a permanent injunction and to pay a $650,000 civil penalty as part of a settlement resolving alleged violations of federal law that requires senders of commercial emails to notify the recipients of such emails of their right to opt-out . . .
