ITASCA, Illinois, Aug. 22 (TNSres) -- The American Academy of Pediatrics issued the following news release on Aug. 21, 2023:
A record number of children in the U.S. died from a firearm injury in 2020, making it the leading cause of death. The next year was worse, as noted in the study, "Trends and Disparities in Firearm Deaths among Children." From 2018-2021, there was a spike of nearly 42% in the rate of children killed by guns.
